Developed by Experia, the Sensory Cart has a number of features designed to help those suffering with dementia to relax; the cart also helps de-escalate stressful and upsetting situations experienced by those suffering with different forms of the disease.
Offering a number of benefits to the user, the Cart houses a built-in DVD player and screen, which can help those using the Cart to reminisce through visual distraction, such as enjoying a film of their choice; and, because it is portable, this means the Sensory Cart can be used within different environments, such as nursing homes, health centres, hospitals and hospices.
The Sensory Cart also helps people with Autism (AUT), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
As well as the DVD player and screen, the unit is designed with a number of key features that include: an LED bubble tube that is both visually attractive and relaxing; a tactile fibre optic side-glow designed to help calm and sooth the user; an Aurora LED projector with liquid wheel which shines images and patterns onto walls, ceilings and floors to create a distracting and calming effect; integral Bluetooth amplifier and speakers with gesture control so that music can be played to help relax the user.
