Maceen Al Sharq Co have a wealth of experience providing innovative products, professional services and cost-effective engineering solutions to the Healthcare sector. On their latest project, we helped them to create a selection of multi-sensory rooms for Al Riadah School, aiding in the development of therapy and stimulation of the senses for children with learning disabilities. Given Experia UK’s experience in sensory room integration and our longstanding professional partnership with the Maceen Al Sharq Co, together we set to work on producing a multi-sensory room for the school.
The Atlantis was created in order to cater to the schools requirements which included the use of a sensory pool. Our sensory pool package enables hydrotherapy and movement development, making it much more engaging with a variety of lighting and projection effects. The features included in this room help to progress gross motor and physical skills in an exciting and stimulating environment, which is fully controlled by the user through wireless floating switches. The Master Pairer gives teachers and therapists the ability to select which switch controls are able to cause change.
The Atlantis package we created included:
The Atlantis provides a fantastic range of features for every user that can engage all the senses including visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory and vibration. The room provides a stimuli for everyone and has a function for every pupil regardless of ability and can help them develop vital life skills. It has enabled all users of the room to advance their cause and effect skill set, expand their colour and shape recognition as well as engaging their switching, tracking and interaction skills. In addition all of this can be achieved whilst building users’ confidence in their own abilities and ultimately provide a sense of independence and wellbeing.
Everyone involved with the project was impressed when the room was completed and we are so pleased to hear that there are plans for many more rooms in the future. Rabih El Khazandar from Maceen Al Sharq Co said, “Yes of course, we would recommend Experia, they are our partner and we want to grow up together in this business.” We are looking forward to working with them on the next project already!g, tracking and interaction skills. In addition all of this can be achieved whilst building users’ confidence in their own abilities and ultimately provide a sense of independence and wellbeing.
