Experia’s Sensory Bus

On Sunday 18 September 2016 Experia’s sensory bus made a stop at Zeno’s family fun day to celebrate the work of Zeno and its commitment to providing safe, supportive, friendly and inspiring environments for adults with learning disabilities.

Zeno’s ethos is to build strong relationships with not only the adults under its care, but also with their families and support workers. One of the great ways in which Zeno does this is by hosting fun days. The aim of the fun days is to provide stimulating social activities for adults with learning disabilities and a fun and relaxed environment for families and carers.

Experia joined Zeno for the fun day and brought along its sensory bus so that attendees could escape the day’s activities and enjoy the relaxing sensory environment aboard the bus.

Jenny Allcock, Founder of Creating Adventures, said: “I knew the sensory bus would be a fantastic addition to our day, but I was blown away with just how fantastic it really was. It was wonderfully kitted out with all the sensory equipment you could think of and provided many of the adults with just the place they needed to enjoy an escape on the day.

“Peter Saunders and Jan Wdowczyk from Experia were on hand all day and made everyone onboard the bus feel very welcome.  It was great to see two of our ladies Louise and Laura, who often avoid sensory rooms, enjoying some time out in the bus with their families. It was lovely to see how much of a positive impact the sensory equipment had on those aboard the bus. “

We thoroughly enjoyed being a part of Zeno’s family fun day and it was a great day for everyone involved. The highlight of the day was seeing so many people experiencing the calming benefits of the sensory equipment and all the happy faces exploring the bus. Thanks for the invite Zeno!
